An infographic that exposes the gap between protection on paper and in practice – and maps the route to a healthy North Sea by 2040
The North Sea Foundation works towards a healthy and resilient North Sea. Although 28% of the Dutch North Sea is formally protected under EU directives, harmful activities such as bottom-trawling are still permitted in practice. This gap needed to be communicated clearly and compellingly.
