Platform 31 – Prospective Shopping Districts – Building Blocks for Public and Private Partnerships
Platform 31 is a knowledge-based organization which acts as a breeding ground for research and experiments in the fields of urban design and development. They asked us to develop a series of infographics and illustrations for their newest publication Prospective Shopping Districts – Building Blocks for Public and Private Partnerships about increasing vacancy in retail space in The Netherlands.
The foundation of the infographic series is an approachable and clear visual language based on recognizable icons and symbols. Because each graphic varies in type of information, from hard economic figures and datasets to more conceptual trends and ideas, a visual language was chosen with a strong illustrative quality. The result is a series of icons, graphics and illustrations with a coherent editorial structure.
